Hooray for Speech Therapy indeed!

From early childhood Kurt had a stutter, which ranged from mild to challenging. This one-hour solo show takes the audience on a journey through Kurt’s adventures through speech therapy, from various breathing techniques to talking to dogs to therapists with out-of-control egos. Ultimately Kurt becomes an actor and enrolls in a three-week intensive speech therapy boot camp in Roanoke, Virginia, where he encounters a whole new Southern life style, in addition to a completely new way of speaking.

Hooray for Speech Therapy was written and directed by Kurt Fitzpatrick, debuted in New York in 2003, and has been touring theaters and festivals since 2004. It continues to be performed, and is ready to come to your town, event, or school. Contact for more information.

Here’s what Shaun Landry posted as a San Francisco Fringe audience review:

He is so endearing and charming onstage! And he plays with the audience, too...which I personally love...He knows how to riff...and get right back on track. He makes stuttering hot. A must see show!
